The Ultimate Slow Cooker Chili

Ingredients
  

Chili

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 15 oz can kidney beans
  • 1 15 oz can black beans
  • 1 15 oz can corn
  • 1 15 oz can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 onion sliced
  • chicken broth
  • 1 carrot halved and chopped
  • 1 sweet potato cubed
  • 5 cloves garlic peeled and minced

Spice Blend

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • ½ tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tbsp pepper
  • salt to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Chips chopped
  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro chopped
  • Avocado cubed
  • Mexican cheese blend shredded

Instructions
 

  • Saute onion and carrot on the stove on medium-high heat for 5 minutes, then add garlic and saute for another 3 minutes or until garlic is golden before adding to slow cooker pot.
  • Then saute ground meat for 5 minutes or no longer pink before also adding to slow cooker pot (discard extra liquid prior to adding it).
  • Add remaining ingredients and spice blend to pot. Mix everything together and cook on low heat for 5-7 hours.
  • Top with optional ingredients before serving.
