Air Fryer Chicken
We’re big fans of air fryers. Ever since we got ours, we experiment with all types of recipes, whether it’s meat, chicken, vegetables, etc.
We’re such proponents of air fryers that we took the time to write an in-depth article on the topic, entitled “The Ultimate Air Fryer Guide“. In this article, we walk you through everything you need to know about Air Fryers including how Air Fryers work, which Air Fryer is right for your needs, how to properly use and clean your Air Fryer, and lastly (and probably most importantly) we share with you our favorite recipes using an Air Fryer, ranging from Orange Chicken to Teriyaki Beef Jerky to Gorgonzola Sweet Potato Fries.
Chicken Katsu
Chicken Katsu is a Japanese fried chicken dish that involves breading thinly-sliced chicken with panko crumbs. We actually got the idea for the current recipe’s crunchy chicken from Chicken Katsu. We thought to air fry rather than traditional frying methods for a healthier but still tasty alternative.
But if you’re a fan of chicken katsu, then feel free to modify this recipe! Rather than combining the panko-crusted chicken with a Caesar salad like in this recipe, you can instead serve it atop rice and topped with green onions and a delicious tonkatsu sauce.
There are variations on tonkatsu sauce but for an easy one, it can be made by mixing together the following ingredients until sugar is dissolved:
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp minced garlic

Crunchy Air Fryer Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap
Ingredients
- Air Fryer Crunchy Chicken
- 3 chicken breasts
- ¾ cup flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- Caesar salad wrap
- 1 bag romaine lettuce
- ¼ cup shaved parmesan cheese
- Caesar salad dressing
- Cherry tomatoes halved
- 3 to rtillas
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in a zip lock bag or between a few sheets of cling wrap. Pound the chicken on the thick parts until it has relatively uniform thickness throughout.
- Crack eggs into a bowl and mix with a fork. Pour flour on one plate. Pour panko bread crumbs on another plate. Sprinkle some salt/pepper over the chicken breasts. Doing one at a time, dip each piece into the flour, then into the egg batter, then coat with panko crumbs.
- Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees. Cook each breast 1 or two at a time (making sure they are not stacked on top of each other) for 18 minutes total, flipping once halfway through.
- Meanwhile, combine the lettuce, parmesan cheese, caesar salad dressing, and cherry tomatoes in a large bowl.
- When chicken is ready, cut it obliquely into thin slices. On a tortilla, add salad and chicken. Sprinkle over some extra pepper and fold into a wrap. For an extra touch, you can use a hot cast iron griddle pan to seal the edges and add a sear to the tortillas.
