The Ultimate Slow Cooker Chili
Ingredients
Chili
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 15 oz can kidney beans
- 1 15 oz can black beans
- 1 15 oz can corn
- 1 15 oz can chopped tomatoes
- 1 onion sliced
- chicken broth
- 1 carrot halved and chopped
- 1 sweet potato cubed
- 5 cloves garlic peeled and minced
Spice Blend
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- ½ tbsp paprika
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tbsp pepper
- salt to taste
Optional Toppings
- Chips chopped
- Sour cream
- Cilantro chopped
- Avocado cubed
- Mexican cheese blend shredded
Instructions
- Saute onion and carrot on the stove on medium-high heat for 5 minutes, then add garlic and saute for another 3 minutes or until garlic is golden before adding to slow cooker pot.
- Then saute ground meat for 5 minutes or no longer pink before also adding to slow cooker pot (discard extra liquid prior to adding it).
- Add remaining ingredients and spice blend to pot. Mix everything together and cook on low heat for 5-7 hours.
- Top with optional ingredients before serving.
