Ingredients

  

  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 3 gloves of garlic minced
  • 12 ounces elbow pasta
  • 8 ounces heavy cream
  • 6 ounces white cheddar
  • 6 ounces gruyere cheese
  • 3 6oz cans lump crab meat
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped

Instructions

 

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Cook the pasta as directed on the box. While the pasta is cooking, in a large pot, heat the heavy cream (make sure it does not come to a boil), add in the cheese, and stir continuously. Once all the cheese has been combined, add in the crab meat and the spices.
  • Set the cheesy mixture on simmer while you prepare the onions. In a large pan, sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil until the onions turn golden (5-10 minutes). Add the onions and garlic into the cheesy mixture.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and pour it into the pot with the cheese, crab, and onion sauce, and stir to coat all the pasta in sauce. Pour the whole mixture into a buttered casserole dish, top with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and black pepper, and bake for 6-8 minutes or until the breadcrumbs turn a golden color. Take out of the oven and top with fresh parsley before serving.
