Seared Ahi Tuna Salad with Soy Ginger Dressing
Ingredients
Salad
- 3 cups mixed salad greens
- 3 cups kale
- ½ lb ahi tuna sashimi grade
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp white sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp pine nuts lightly toasted
- 1 tbsp pistachios
- 1 avocado sliced
- 1 Roma tomato chopped
- 1 bunch green onions sliced
Dressing
- Juice from 1 lime
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Toss kale with some oil and roast in oven for about 15 minutes or until crispy, flipping once.
- Meanwhile, season tuna with some salt and pepper. Mix together white and black sesame seeds on a plate and coat the tuna. Preheat a cast iron skillet on the stove until hot. Sear tuna for about 2 minutes per side, so that it is still rare on the inside (but cook through if not sashimi grade tuna).
- Place salad greens and roasted kale in a serving bowl and add remaining salad ingredients.
- Whisk together all dressing ingredients and drizzle over salad.
